Single over the holidays?

Being single over the holiday period need not be a bad experience, but you will need to plan ahead. Happiness is really all up to you. It's a choice you are going to have to make and you will need to be proactive and make things happen. Follow these easy tips to ensure that you have an absolute blast this festive season whilst being happily single:

1. Firstly - remember that there are many other single people out there. You're not alone. Focus on what it is you do have. Be positive, dress up and get out there. The more positive energy you exude, the more positive people you are going to attract.
2. Get in touch with all of your friends as soon as possible. Even the friends you are not talking to for some or other reason, or have lost contact with. Find out what they have planned for the holiday festivities, you never know, you may want to join them.
3. Accept ALL invitations. Even though you may not feel like dressing up, or going by yourself. Be brave and get out there. Chances are that you are going to have a superb time!
4. Why not invite another family to your home for dinner. Families easily open their homes to singles over the festive season. You could also offer to baby sit your friends' kids and help the little ones with Christmas shopping or creating Christmas cards for their families.
5. Host a 'singles only' dinner party at your home. Ask all your single friends to bring along another single friend you've never met before. What better way to meet more single people over the holiday? Remember to find out what their plans are for the rest of the holiday.
6. Offer to volunteer at a charity. There is a great need in our country to assist others that are not as fortunate as we are.
7. Try something crazy you've never done before like a ride in a hot air balloon, skydiving or just going to a cooking class by yourself. The idea is that you get out there with an activity or two this holiday and broaden your horizons.
8. There are a number of companies that arrange single holidays and offer fantastic deals for single travellers. Why not book yourself into a spa and be pampered for a few days?

Whatever you do, just make sure you have loads of fun and stay positive. Remember to spoil yourself with a fantastic gift this holiday because you deserve it!
